Father Sean Patrick Monaghan grew up in West London, in the neighborhood of Kilburn, to an Irish immigrant father and a mixed Hindu and Afro-Caribbean mother. Exposed to a wide array of religious ideas in his youth, he attended Catholic seminary and became a priest. His broad knowledge of other religions and of the occult practices associated with them led him to become a successful exorcist, until one day, something went very wrong, and the victim was literally dragged away to Hell. His prayers went unanswered, and his faith broke. He went searching for answers, for truth, and learned magic from masters and magi across the world, distilling it all into his own eclectic style of Chaos magic.

He now defends the world from supernatural threats, and from the tyranny of so called 'gods', as well. The Catholic Church long ago excomunicated him, and their Inquisition would gladly see him dead. Quite recently, he was bequeathed the title and authority of the Archmage of Earth, for while there are more powerful magic wielders out there, they are all beholden to some extra-dimensional power, while he is free.

He's part of the Knights of the Round, and defends Britain (and the world) with them, when not busy with more esoteric problems. He has an on again, off again relationship with the very powerful magician Dr. Wyrd. And several other people.
