Review: The Blood Domain, by Colby Whittaker

Full transparency, I received a free review copy of this pdf. And dangit, I guess I need to review something I’m not interested in by folks who aren’t great creators, cuz my blog is beginning to look like I just say nice things about everyone., which just isn’t true.

That said…Wow. I’ll use my standard four part review here: Utility, Quality, Presentation, and Price.

The product is a subclass for 5e D&D, but its a good bit more than that. It includes new spells, an organization, NPCs, magic items…all good.

So

Utility: If you like the idea of blood flavored clerics healing and hurting and using blood as power, this class really delivers. I absolutely plan to add it to my own campaigns, because there just aren’t enough Domain options, especially for villains, and not all of them should just have Death. (BORING!) Not that this subclass has to be evil. Pretty much all of the subclass features are cool and flavorful as well as very useful, but not overpowered. Channel Divinity: Hematophage, is particularly cool, especially for a BBEG with minions….

5/5

Quality: I kinda got into this already. It’s super well written, super clear, well balanced, cool, powerful in all the right ways. Colby knows his craft

5/5

Presentation: Just as good. Visually impressive, with good art, copy editing, layout. No notes.

5/5

Price: Cheap. Really cheap. 3 bucks gets you the subclass, the items, the spells, the NPCs, the organization…well worth it.

5/5

So overall, 5 outta 5. Buy this. Seriously,.
