Description: Sometimes what seems fairest is foulest. Interitus has many guises, and can appear as any race or lineage. Most commonly, he appears as a tall, perfect human, with black hair and green eyes, and bronze skin. In this form Interitus is the most beautiful of all the male gods, and his voice is like adamant wrapped in velvet. He wears a black war kilt, with no tunic, and the most ancient verdigrised bronze breastplate and other armor of the early Regan Hoplite, or a green trimmed Senator's robe. When caparisoned for war, he bears the Serpent Spear, a venomous weapon that kills all it touches and can become a giant venomous snake to fight by his side. He also bears the Shield of Dragons, which can duplicate any chromatic dragon breath. At his side, a xiphos called Torment, which racks its victims with horrific pain. On his head he often wears the Helm of Domination, a Corinthian helmet with a crest of green horsehair and power over mortal minds. He also appears as a degraded and tarnished bronze dragon, as often as a green. But rumour has it his true form is a scaled serpent man who can have legs or a tail as he wishes, with long poisoned talons and venomous fangs. Some say he has a forked tongue in all his forms.
History: First of the dark gods, inheritor of Invidia's power, he was born from the wreckage of her skull mere moments after she was flung into the Abyss by Saevios. It was he who received her intellect, her will to possess, to devour, to conquer. He is undisputed leader of the dark gods, King of all the Hells, overlord of devils, maker of dragons. He made the other two dark gods purposefully to support his efforts to conquer the world. He subdued a huge section of the Abyss to his will, forming the Hells in tiers above it, and Metus' Boneyard surrounding the Pit. Rixa he placed to loosely govern the madness of the Abyss itself, so that he might use the chaos to his purposes.
He has fought Saevios several times, and fought him to a standstill...his organized, skilled tactics work far better than Invidia's madness did.
Relationships: Hatred. Fear. Envy. He envies the power of Saevios and the love mortals have for him. He fears Saevios, as well, alone among entities. He hates and despises all the other gods of light...and they respond in kind. Most fear him. His own 'children' hate and fear him as well. There is no love in his Hell.
Realm: He resides in the Bronze Citadel, on the Battle Plains of the Lowest Hell. From there he rules Hell, Metus' Boneyard, and the Abyss itself, allowing nothing to escape his grasp. But he wants the world, and Aula Dei after.
Rituals: His rituals are among the worst. All sacrifices are unwilling, and involve breaking the will of the victim in all possible ways, and every form of degradation. It is about unwilling dominance, and the total subjugation of the victim, before their death. Other rituals involve handling deadly venomous snakes and allowing them to bite, in the hopes that one might survive and gain his favor.
Holy Days: The ninth day of every month is holy to him, and his high holy day is the 9th day of the 9th month.
Commandments:
Suffer no will to contest yours.
Serve the strongest. Strength deserves power.
Use what serves you, destroy what opposes you.
If you are strong enough, take what you want. It is yours by right.
The will of lesser beings is irrelevant.
Orders: The Black Guard is his public order of evil paladins, dressed all in black armor. The Serpent Priests are the green clad torturers and viziers to nobles.
