Kal Clerk is the last remaining denizen of a destroyed celestial realm known as Abditon, the Hidden Realm.

All the people of that place were half-celestials, and highly advanced in both science and magic, but Abditon was found by fiends from the Abyssal Realms, and destroyed, lead by a great archdevil called Stochotrelos, who was collecting samples of celestial life. He was sent through the Astral to the Prime Material in an astral skiff, where he was raised by a human couple of peasant farmers.
