Sukekuni, or Suke as his friends call him, is a Japanese-American, raised in a very traditional Japanese household. His family is an old samurai family from the Tsushima region of Japan, where the Divine Wind prevented the Mongol Invasions.

Some have said his family decended from Fujin the WInd God himself. In Suke's case, they are exactly right. Suke is actually the direct son of Fujin. His mother and foster father both know this, and he was raised to believe such a lineage came with great responsibility. He, on the other hand, just wants to have fun. He enjoys fighting, and is involved in underground pit fighting rings, even though he's out of his depth.

His foster father trained him in the family styles of Karate and Kenjutsu based on speed and agility, and his extraordinary skill often makes up for his small size.

He also bears a magic sword that has been passed down through his family from ancient times. Like the Kusanagi, it is not a katana, but rather a tsurugi, or shorter double edged straight sword. It is made of a strange, nearly transparent, glasslike material, lighter and stronger than steel.

In flight, Suke rides a cloud, and can himself become a cloud or wind. His sword can cut insubstantial things . .

but cannot cut solid things while he is insubstantial.
