Mutants and Masterminds Character of the Week: "Slick" Manhoso

"Slick" is a friendly neighborhood hero in the Brazilian part of San Francisco. He's of Afro-Brazilian descent, and trained in Capoeira and Brazilian Jiujitsu. He came close to going to the Olympics for gymnastics, but had to drop out of school and training to support his family. Having gained his powers from exposure to the friction shielding generator from Champion's crashed ship (the parts fell off in reentry and hit at Mile Rock Beach), Slick decided to use his powers to defend the Brazilian community. He's definitely a vigilante, as he has no regard for the law...just the good of his people. He's as likely to fight corrupt businessmen and politicians and their goons as he is organized crime and street thugs...so he has a reputation like Spiderman. To the common person, especially POC in San Francisco, he's a Robin Hood hero (yes, he'll steal to provide for the poor) but to the media and the police, he's a menace.

His powers allow him to fine tune how friction interacts with his body, from a totally frictionless surface that cannot be grabbed or restrained, to a totally unbreakable grip and wallcrawling, plus everywhere in between. Imagine parkour plus the way Tarzan slides on the tree branches in the Disney movie, with exceptional skill at grappling combine with a total immunity to it himself...
