Doc Bronze

Art done on Factory of Heroes.

Doctor Benjamin Bronze is a world famous adventurer and hero. Active since the late 1800's, he appears to be of South Asian ancestry, but has a distinctive metallic sheen to his deeply tanned bronze skin and dark hair. His accent and mannerisms are those of an upper class Victorian Englishman or Anglicized South Asian of high caste, though his skin is quite a bit darker.

It is not generally known to the world that he is actually the son of Prince Dakkar of Bundelkhand, also known as Captain Nemo. Like his father, he is an extraordinary polymath. In addition to his own enormous intellect, his inventions stem from the technology and materials his father found in the ruins of an ancient underwater city, believed to be an outpost of lost Atlantis. The fabulous metal merium, that he found there, was the basis of many of both Nemo's inventions and Doc Bronze's as well. Doc Bronze's famous indestructible Bronzium is actually a merium-orichalchum alloy.

Doc Bronze is a man out of his time,  despite his scientific advancement, and his perspectives and mode of speech are archaic. He's charming, but promiscuous. He tends to wear khaki clothing resembling safari gear, complete with epaulets on the shirt and his pants tucked into his tall black boots.

Doc Bronze has had many adventures across his long life, but after World War 2 he heped found the Vanguard, an international super team intended to help keep world peace and defend from otherwordly threats, whether they be from beyond the stars or another dimension. His branch of the Vanguard, called the Bronze Brigade, operates out of Neopolis, the City of Tomorrow, on man made island off the coast of New Jersey.

Unfortunately, Doc Bronze is also known as the creator of the Mechanical Menace known as Magnatron in 1942. He only intended to make a durable industrial robot to handle tasks to dangerous for humans, but he made far more than he intended, and Magnatron has upgraded itself many times since then.
