The Totenkopf Spider is a tiny monstrosity that lives in deep caves and mines. Its body looks just like the skull or an infant or small child. Perhaps it merely adopts them as home, the way a hermit crab inhabits a found shell. It will often lurk in the dark, completely hidden, before leaping out to literally scare onlookers to death . . . or it might hide in plain sight, inspiring deadly horror only when it unfolds its eight legs from the base of the child's skull it was pretending to be and begins to scuttle, far too quickly, toward a victim...

It was said, originally, to live in a cave on Sonnenberg Mountain, in Germany...a cave that also unleashes a version of the Wild Hunt and apparently is or leads to a dwarven stronghold.
